Hayyy, I'm Kayla!
I’m from a small-ass town about an hour away from Fargo, North Dakota. I’m 33 years old. I moved here in 2008 for Cosmo school and never left. I’ve been married twice (but this second time has been pretty nice). I have 2 pit mix rescues, a cat rescue, and two aunts (who happen to be cats also) living with me and my husband, Sam.
I own an all inclusive salon and spa that is shaking up this whole beauty industry. It’s the most challenging thing to trail blaze, but alas, no other type of torture would suffice for me. I am a glutton for punishment and changing the world.
I come from a less than ideal upbringing. I’m unlearning the cPTSD every day, and surrounding myself with humans I can sit down and share space who doesn’t not run away from conflict, but steps into the very difficult and uncomfortable waters that lead to growth and healing. I’m not a victim. I’m a survivor. And I want to spend time with the people who are collecting the tools to survive and thrive with me during this time on this rock in space.
It took me way too long to come out as bisexual and I’m learning all sorts of new things on top of everything else this spicy life has to offer. I’m a personal development freak, going to retreats, reading books, and attending any kind of coaching or networking I can fit in my already tight as a tiger schedule.
And I apparently wasn’t busy enough so I did this podcast thing with Liz. So listen to it. We’re dedicating a wee bit of our time every few weeks to eat, talk about everything and nothing, and get to know each other better, while you listen in, which is weird, but also kinda cool.
I love dinosaurs, horses, brown sugar oat milk shaken espressos, anything spiritual or considered witchy/woo woo, peanut butter and chocolate. I love women, but I may love a vulnerable, emotional man even a little more sometimes I’m getting into the easy plant mom idea. I’m fucking sick of winter ‘22-‘23. My favorite color is rainbow. I’ve never broken a bone (cause I’m made of steel). I try to keep my dollars in the local economy as much as humanly possible and I hate the fake flavors of grape. I like to get buzzed on wine, mead, and Naturdays sometimes. And I love almost all food. Food is good. I love cheese the most.
